7th grade religion class is a journey through the story of Jesus.  We study the life and times of Jesus as presented through our new Sadlier We Live Our Faith As Disciples of Jesus text.  The first unit (six chapters) asks the Big Question -- WHO IS GOD?  We also study the lives of saints and other "partners in faith" to help us on our own journey through life.

8th grade religion class studies the history of the Catholic Church.  We are using a new text -- Sadlier's We Live Our Faith As Members of the Church.  The Big Question in Unit One (six chapters) asks HOW DO WE NOURISH GOD'S GIFT OF FAITH?  This new series introduces the students to "partners in faith" -- sometimes a saint; sometimes an important member of the laity.

Both classes will gain knowledge of their faith and of the liturgy.  They will be prepared for the changes in the Roman Missal which will begin on the first Sunday of Advent.  They will receive moral training and spend time in prayer.  They will become familiar with Catholic terminology.  They will study Catholic social teaching and learn the value of living in a Christian community.  During the second semester the Family Life curriculum will be incorporated in their classes.  Finally, they will discuss the need for evangelization and ecumenism.  Each class will also be responsible for preparing two (2) masses during the school year.  These dates are listed below.

Religion 8-1 -- September 2 and February 10

Religion 8-2 -- December 8 and March 23

Religion 7-1 -- September 9 and March 2

Religion 7-2 -- December 2 and April 20
