Music - Grade K

Our Kindergartners will be focusing on moving to music as well as singing and playing instruments. We will be working with the basic elements of music such as tempo, dynamics and pitch.  We will also be learning to sing alone and in a group with expression.  Percussion instruments and body movements will be used to reinforce beat and rhythm.  the students will also be encouraged and allowed to improvise with movement and instruments. Parents are encouraged to volunteer to help in class as well as visit the classroom at any time. 

The Kindergartners are also preparing "Go Fish," A Musical Play for Young singers by John Jacobson and John Higgins to be presented to their parents and the lower school on May19th, 2011.

The kindergartners also spend time in class preparing musical offerings for their Mass.  They learn songs and use instruments to accompany hymns in Mass.
