Rules for 7th and 8th Grade Math Class
· All school rules will apply.
· In regards to the above: Please make special note of the rules concerning advanced requests for homework assignments. Specifically, if student/parents request assignments in advance (for example, due to a family trip), the student is required to turn in all assignments the day s/he returns to school. Assignments not turned in at this time will be given a "0" as per school policy stated in the handbook.
· Make-up/late work - A student is responsible for making up all work after an absence. This includes daily assignments as well as tests, quizzes, and worksheets. It is the student's responsibility to find out what assignments are missing; this can be accomplished by checking the web calendar, by checking the homework calendar posted in the classroom, or by checking with Mrs. Weeks.
Late work (other than that caused by absences or work requested in advance) will be accepted only one day late and will incur the following penalties. 7th Grade - Late work will be penalized 25% the first semester and 50% the second semester. 8th Grade - Late work will be penalized 50% the first semester and will not be accepted the second semester. Work is due at the time the teacher requests it.
· Students are not allowed to go to lockers for forgotten materials. Each day students will need their binders, notebook paper, pencils, workbooks (not 7th Grade Math students), and calculators. On test days, students will need to bring a book for reading in case they finish the test early.
-All work must be done in pencil. Assignments not done in pencil will be penalized 10%.
