Welcome to 6-A
(home to Mrs. Dekle and Grade 6 Language Arts and Religion)

Dear Students and Parents,

By now, it's possible, you may have heard,
of my use of poetry to send folks word
of what's going on in class and out.
It's a love of mine (like eating kielbasi and sauerkraut!).

So here's my attempt to start the year,
with a bit of news that you should hear.
It's my eleventh year back in front of a class
(after six years working in arts administration had passed).

For me as a parent, it’s another big year,
as my younger child begins sixth grade here.
My nineteen year old daughter I cannot (literally or figuratively) overlook,
as she's in Ireland for the fall and (by now) hitting the books.

I'm looking forward to another year of fun,
with loads of learning, just like the last one.
And remember, if questions you have, I'll never moan
when you call me at home or school (929-2241) on the phone.

My e-mail (if that's the method you prefer)
is ndekle@st-thomasmore.org, and to it I regularly refer.
I look forward to getting to know all of you
(especially the 6-A students, who are in my homeroom too)!

Mrs. Dekle
