St. Thomas More Catholic School follows the CURRICULUM outlined by the Diocese of Raleigh and is accredited through Southern Association of Colleges and Schools also known as
“In light of questions about the Common Core that are being raised in the media, our Diocese has created a helpful position paper for families within or curious about our Catholic schools. Accompanying that is a letter from Loyola University addressing concerns that have been expressed in the media.”

Below you will find a report of St. Thomas More Catholic School's performance on a list of skills that were tested in the fall of each year listed below using the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT - 5th graders only). As with all exercises that generate data, its best use is in providing questions, not answers. Receiving information like this is the beginning of our work, not the conclusion. Our data committee continues to review the numbers to explore questions about our curriculum, teaching methods, resources, and schedule. Teachers will use this information during professional development time and weekly grade level meetings to learn what they can from the scores about specific children, resources, curricula and teaching strategies.
