Sixth Grade began the year by considering
their favorite music makers.
They prepared a brief oral presentation for the class
and wrote a short paper to go on the bulletin board
in the room.

As we looked at these musicians,
we also considered how we are all music makers.
We will continue developing our musicality
by listening, singing, playing instruments
and learning to be good consumers of music.

Our focus is American music from the late-1800s to 2000, and we will be doing special presentations on jazz
during Jazz Appreciation Month (in April).
This will be an integrated project with Media
and Language Arts.
