Hello STM Families,

I thought you all might want an update for the Arenal mission so far for this school year.

In September 2011 we sent Father Rob a check for $12,000.00. They were very grateful for that check as the rain has played havoc with their crops and crop yield was lower than expected.

Our 2011 Mission Friday collections have been:  
  • September   $1036.00  / 175 families = $5.92 per family
  • October         $516.00 /  175 families = $2.95 per family
  • November    $492.00/  175 families = $2.81 per family
  • December    $368.00/  175 families = $2.10 per family
We have only 9 mission days per school year and have a goal that each month each family will send in $5.00, NOT each student.  That total is $40.00 per year and we hope that feels “do able” for most STM families.

Therefore each month we hope to collect $5 x 175 families = $875 per month. 

If anyone could please help the missions on Friday it would be great.   I believe you will all remember Father Rob’s visit in September as he visited each classroom. The villagers depend on our support to buy new seed for crops and to educate villagers. 

Let’s support the villagers of Arenal.  We are selling coffee and tea after each mass this weekend and hope you will buy and enjoy the coffee or tea!!
