About STM - A School Portrait
Established in 1964 as part of St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, St. Thomas More School has consistently combined rigorous academics with Christian moral and religious truths, creating a challenging and inspiring educational atmosphere. Led by an outstanding group of teachers and administrators working closely with the pastor, priests, and lay leaders of St. Thomas More Church, the school is energized by a spirit of inquiry that makes every school day a time to explore and grow. St. Thomas More students are filled with purpose, self-confidence, and a desire to achieve to their fullest potential both as members of society and as children of God. Parental involvement is an essential part of St. Thomas More School's formula for success. Parents participate in all areas of school life, from volunteering in the classroom to organizing various cultural and academic programs. The Home and School Association implements many of the school's fundraising activities and sponsors several enjoyable events that bring the community together for the fun and fellowship. The Booster Club holds a golf tournament each year in support of the school's sports programs. Parents also serve on a number of committees and boards whose purpose is to better serve the educational experience of St. Thomas More students in every way possible. Many extracurricular activities are available to students including a variety of academic, cultural, and service organizations. Sports teams include girls' and boys' basketball, boys' soccer, and girls' volleyball. Sports clinics designed to enhance students' skills are also offered, at times featuring standouts from local college and professional ranks.
