Class trips are so wonderful!
They provide a tremendous learning opportunity..........and they are lots of fun, too!
Symphony
During the fall, the students of 3B, along with other STM classes, go to hear the inspiring sounds of the NC Symphony. It is always a spectacular performance designed especially for children! The students listen to the classical works of many famous composers, learn about the different groups of instruments and participate in singing songs that they learned in Music Class. Afterwards we usually eat lunch at a local park. It always turns out to be a wonderfully exciting day!
Off to the North Carolina Zoo
November is the month that we traditionally head off to the NC Zoo! Third Graders are typically HUGE fans of the animal world so they enjoy going to the zoo and getting a close-up view of many of their favorite animals. With the use of binoculars, the students are able to observe the adaptations of the animals and record their observations on their zoo worksheets. We usually even bring along our very own personal tour guide, Mr. Dave. It surely is a day to remember!
