The homework is the same every week. Monday: Write a sentence for each spelling sight word, complete a math page and the math minute. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: Complete a math page and language arts worksheet  Friday: No homework!

On Friday I will send home a special 'Friday Folder' which will contain any graded work your child has done during the week. These papers are to stay home, but the folder is to be returned on Monday.

FIELD TRIPS - We go on two field trips a year. Our November field trip is to the Carolina Tiger Preserve in Pittsboro and in the Spring we attend the Life & Science Museum in Durham.

SPECIAL EVENTS - At the Christmas Party every year we have a Christmas Concert in the 2B classroom for families. In the Spring, both second grade classes perform BUGZ, a musical play for their families.

Each week one student will get to be the special student for the week. They will lead the line and do other important jobs for our class. This also means that on Friday that student will be allowed to bring in a special show and tell item and treat to share with the class.

A birthday is a special time for young children to share with their friends. On a child's birthday (half-birthday if your child's birthday falls during the summer) he/she may bring a special snack. Please do not send a birthday cake or store-bought cupcakes with 3" frosting.
